Fees

The Law Offices of Seidner & Associates, PC has two methods of billing: hourly and flat fee.

Litigation matters are typically billed after a Retainer Agreement is signed wherein our firm and the client agree about how their case will be handled and what the rate will be. The ultimate cost of the case is almost never predictable but we strive to give the prospective client different scenarios ranging from a quick settlement to a protracted trial. We have different billing rates for different attorneys and staff and we bill in increments as low as tenths of the hour which benefits the client by avoiding unnecessary rounding up. We strive to assign work with your wallet in mind however some matters can only be handled by our seasoned, experienced attorneys. When possible, we assign certain aspects of a case to junior attorneys, paralegals, law clerks, and other staff to help keep billing costs down.

*In matrimonial cases, the less-monied spouse is also presumptively entitled to a temporary award of attorneys fees from the other spouse so you should always call for an evaluation even if you do not think you can afford an attorney for your divorce.

Some other matters can be billed with a flat fee and these include basic wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care proxies, Medicaid applications (community and institutional), certain real estate transactions, and various others determined on a case by case basis.

We know that hiring a lawyer is often a very difficult and challenging process most likely coming at a very trying time in your life.
