The law affecting same-sex families is steadily changing as a result of the Supreme Court’s recent landmark decision which extended federal recognition to same-sex marriage. Cases are being published discussing issues concerning child custody, child support, and other matters that used to be limited to traditional family compositions. Our attorneys are committed to helping same-sex couples reach creative and practical solutions that protect their rights and their children as the law catches up with the societal movements toward general acceptance of alternative family units . Our firm happily represents parties in same-sex legal matters and we strive, as in all cases, to find equitable and legal remedies in court when a relationship dissolves. Mr. Seidner is also the author of an article published in 2017 in The Nassau Lawyer educating the profession about the case law defining a “parent” in same sex relationships where there are more than two parents.
