Firm Settles Kinship Custody Case at Nassau Family Court

Our client, maternal aunt of nephew with deceased mother, sought to obtain custody over child’s grandfather. Instead, both parties, who were not on speaking terms, mended fences and agreed to effectively co-raise the child with the aunt having the entire summer vacation with her nephew in New Zealand. It was a remarkable show of love for a young boy whose mother died and whose father has abandoned him.
